GENERAL BATTLE RULES
This will briefly cover a few ground rules for battles.
1) You are allowed to challenge anyone via PM. Please don't make threads just to challenge someone specific (you can make a thread to challenge anyone that wants to battle you). PM is available for those that want to challenge specific people. The person also has a right to refuse; so if they rejected your battle, don't spam them.
2) All battles are Standard OU battles unless otherwise discussed beforehand. I recently saw an argument over this exact topic, so I say it now for clearification. If you do not know what Standard OU is, ask, and someone will be happy to answer.
3) People here have lives, that includes Gym leaders and Elite 4 members. This is not the game, where the gym leaders are always available until after you beat them. The Gym leader/E4 are the ones that have the final say on the date and time of battle. Generally, we will work something out, but it's not always a guarantee that we will fight on your terms.
4) Follow the rules for the Gym Leader and E4 matches. They're pretty straight-forward and self-explanatory. There shouldn't be any problems.
5) Have fun, that's the point of video games.
If I or anyone else thinks of useful rules, they will be added here. Thank you for your time.

Re: GENERAL BATTLE RULES
Addition: If you suspect your opponent's pokemon is illegal, not necessarily hacked, then let a moderator (especially me) know. Make sure to include exactly what pokemon you suspect are illegal (don't just say their team, becasue we don't know what the team is) and we will check them personally. If the pokemon clears as perfectly legal, you still take the loss. If you accuse 3 people and they are all legal, you will be warned. 5 or more, and the consequences may become more severe. HOWEVER, if we find that the pokemon are illegal, the win will be yours, and the other person will be warned.
Definitions:
Illegal, having impossible stats due to hacking (more than 255 EVs, 31 IVs, etc.) or moves that the pokemon can't normally learn or abilities that the pokemon cannot have (there are very few exceptions to this rule). These pokemon are not allowed to be used FOR ANY REASON! When you are found out, you will be banned, no discussion, so don't even try it!
Legal, but not legit: The pokemon was hacked in order to get it, but it still is possible to get this exact pokemon be legitiment means. These pokemon are allowed, but are not encouraged. If you don't specify that the battle most have perfectly legit pokemon, then the opponent is allowed to use these.
Legit: Pokemon caught, bred, trained, and raised all without use of hacking. Before the battle, you must say if you want a legit or legal battle. Legitness is harder to check, but if caught when asked for a legit battle, expect consequences.
Pokemon May be Hacked but the person MUST admit it is hacked. The Hacked Pokemon must then be IV/EV/Move checked to make sure everything is LEGAL but not necessarily Legit as Hacked Pokemon CANNOT BE LEGIT.
